Goods sold by weight, volume, length or area must show the unit price next to the total price – except below 10 g or 10 ml.

The unit is 1 kg, 1 l, 1 m³, 1 m or 1 m². Per 100 g or 100 ml has only been allowed for loose goods since May 2022.
- 30-day lowest price
Anyone announcing a price reduction must state the lowest price of the 30 days before the reduction.

Quantities PreisKlar detects
The title gives the quantity, the quantity gives the unit price. Anything uncertain is left for you to review.

- Volume and weight in common notations: ml, cl, l, g, kg, also “1,000 g” or “0.5 litre”.
- 6 × 0.33 l → 1.98 l
- Multipacks are added up.
- Drained weight 140 g → per 1 kg
- If a drained weight is given, the unit price refers to it (§ 5(4) PAngV).

FAQ
Where does PreisKlar get the quantity?
From the product title, variant title and options. Weight and volume are detected reliably; length and area are only suggested, because “30 cm” is often a dimension. You can change every quantity by hand.
Do I need to change my theme?
Not for the unit price: PreisKlar uses Shopify’s own field, which common themes show next to the price. For the 30-day lowest price, add the block to the product page once.
How does the app know earlier prices?
Shopify keeps no price history. PreisKlar records every change from installation. For reductions that were already running, you enter the value once yourself.
What happens to my data?
The app only works with products and their prices, not with customers or orders. It stores the price history of your variants and your settings, on servers in Germany. Details in the Privacy Policy.
Does the app replace legal advice?
No. It helps you show unit prices and lowest prices completely and consistently; whether that is sufficient in an individual case, it does not assess.
